Lunar New Year - from reflection to momentum

If you’re feeling like you have not really got going with the new year and still hibernating in the grey, cold and wet post-Christmas slump, don’t worry - according to the Lunar Calendar, the new year has not started.

On the 17 February we move from 2025’s year of the Snake, whose energy was slower, introspective and encouraged us to shed old ways - not always comfortable, but probably necessary. We are shifting gears as we approach the year of the Horse - it’s bolder, dynamic and encourages forward momentum.

For me, last year was a tough one and I feel my energy has shifted this year into a more positive place with a desire for saying ‘yes’ to more adventure, more learning, and in the words of Marie Kondo (is that still a thing?) anything that sparks some joy.

You may have already been feeling the effects as we get closer — are you feeling more social, are you making changes in your life? After the introspection of last year, this year invites growth, drive and action. Bringing those ideas of last year to life.

As we step into this new energy, it’s the perfect moment to think about how our mindset shapes what comes next. At Interaction, we believe that when people approach challenges with curiosity, empathy and a dash of humour, real change happens — both personally and professionally. Here’s to a year of bold steps, meaningful connections and positive momentum — and if you’d like to explore how to bring that energy into your team, we’d love to talk…
