The 2011 CIPD overview of surveys provides a summary of surveys carried out in 2010 and identifies trends within HR for 2011. Interesting findings include an increase in graduate recruitment programmes across all sectors in 2010 compared to 2009 and 2008. Some reduced their intake but 42% kept levels the same as previous years. Whilst the numbers of employers experiencing retention difficulties has reduced over the past three years, it still remains at 55% which seems high. Learning and Talent Development seems to remain focused on skills gaps in leadership/management skills, and business and commercial awareness.
