Are women leaders best for organisations in crisis?

A great article on the British Psychological Society called “Why are women chosen to lead organisations in a crisis?”.  It presents research examining perceptions around leadership stereotypes, gender traits and situations where these might be valued.

It could provoke some interesting debate!

Uncertain times

In these unprecedented time of financial turmoil, there is a great deal of uncertainty around. The likely impact of events on us personally or professionally is still a great unknown. As for the HR/training world, it’s difficult to say. Yet this doesn’t stop many journalists and commentators expressing widely different opinions as this article from Personnel Today demonstrates.

I am yet to find a single source of HR/training news that really sums things up. Ideas welcome. However for information on the broad financial and business situation, I’ve found the BBC’s Robert Peston to be among the best. He’s got a great blog which is worth looking at.
