Tools and methods

We're not interested in fads and phases - we are only interested in doing things well.

We'll start by understanding what the job is, then we'll select the tools and approaches to get it done.

Transfer of learning

I have been conducting some coaching calls this week as part of a follow up to a three day experiential Impact & Influencing programme.

At the end of the programme we gave delegates space to create some achievable action plans and they took up the challenge of a transfer of learning project. It was then 2 months before the coaching call took place, allowing delegates time to apply learning from the programme.

During the coaching calls I was impressed with the level of individual achievement and the will to continue setting themselves challenges going forward.

For me this experience has shown that individuals do want to carry on learning. By giving them support after the programme has finished there is less chance of their learning being lost in a busy workload which is reinforcing old behaviours.
